American Eats -- The History Channel - Thursday, June 29, 2006 - 10 p.m. (EDT)

We may not have the most respected cuisine in the world, but there's a lot of interesting history even behind what many consider "junk food." Like...well, pizza for instance. American Eats is a new series on The History Channel, and the series kicks off with a look at pizza. This should be interesting -- we all know pizza as Italian, but what you see in Italy doesn't look anything like what Pizza Hut serves. Other gut-busting entries (entrees?) will follow in subsequent weeks.
