Atlantic Intracoastal Highway -- The History Channel - Thursday, July 20, 2006 - 9:00 p.m. (EDT)

A lot of attention has been paid in the last year to the 50th anniversary of the interstate highway system in the U.S. Now a program that highlights the history of an interstate transportation system that predates the highway system by many years, and is largely natural to boot. The History Channel highlights the 3,000-mile long Atantic Intracoastal Waterway in this special that explains its history as both a natural and manmade commercial and recreational waterway extending down the Atlantic and Gulf coasts.
