Nova -- PBS - Tuesday, October 11, 2005 - 8 p.m. (EDT)

E-equals-emcee-squared. Remember that? Ever understand it? Well, here's your chance to give it another try, with an edition of the award-winning PBS series Nova that explores how Albert Einstein developed his equation in 1905. Einstein did not, of course, do it all alone, but instead built on the work of other scientists who came before.

You won't necessarily understand the relationship between mass and energy any better once you've seen this special, but you will probably be able to carry on a halfway intelligent cocktail party conversation about it.
