The Law Firm -- NBC - Thursday, August 4 - 9 p.m. (EDT)
In keeping with the tendency toward "news" meaning lots of different things these days, from Congress' latest misadventures to what Martha Stewart wears around her ankle, this space is expansive in what we will recommend. Despite the fact that "reality" often appears to be anything but, it can sometimes give us as viewers a valuable "fly on the wall" observation post, as long as we remember to take what we see with some major grains of salt. This summer, NBC is using the reality concept to show us (supposedly) what the inner workings of a law firm is like. This week's episode is supposed to be particularly racy, with cases involving a dominatrix and another dispute involving a poster that was never meant for Mom to see. Just remember this has no more in reality to do with an average day at a law firm than Donald Trump's boardroom does with General Electric's.
Questions or comments? We'd like to hear them! We will take a break next week. Look for our next entry on August 14th.
